The San Diego Zoo's Conservation and Research for Endangered Species: Divisions & Staff

Caroline Pitt

Research Fellow

Caroline Pitt is a research coordinator in the Behavioral Biology Division of CRES. She received her undergraduate degree in biopsychology and anthropology. Ms. Pitt has worked on research projects on a variety of species, including Belding’s ground squirrels, bottlenose dolphins, and Florida scrub jays. She is currently researching the behavioral biology of a unique antelope species, the Nile lechwe, at the Wild Animal Park.

Once Ms. Pitt completes her study on the Nile lechwe, she plans to return to school to pursue a Ph.D. in behavioral ecology. She is particularly interested in anthropogenic threats to ecosystems and hormonal correlates of behavior patterns. When she is not hanging around animals, her main interest is traveling to both new and familiar places.
