Alan Fetter

Research Laboratory Manager/Reproductive Physiology Division

Alan Fetter joined the San Diego Zoo in 1997 as a laboratory technician in the division of Endocrinology, supporting research related to reproduction and conservation. Mr. Fetter is currently the laboratory manager of the Reproductive Physiology Division's Endocrinology Lab.

In addition to managing the lab, Alan develops and maintains hormonal profiles on a variety of animals in the Zoo's collection in support of on-going research and management efforts, and collaborates on research projects with other national and international zoological institutions.

Current research projects include giant panda, Indian and white rhinoceros, orangutan, Andean bear, African elephant, Sumatran tiger, and Pacific pocket mouse.
